I felt the warmth of a family business

Kris

Quality, safety, and warmth are the three words which I would use to sum up Dorel Juvenile. Quality because we are driven to deliver top quality products; safety because it’s all about keeping children safe; and warmth because I immediately felt the warmth of a family business in this company when I started working here. That feeling caught me when I joined Dorel over 15 years ago and I can still feel it now, even though we’ve grown rapidly.

I started as a Warehouse employee, made a short detour to facilities, and three years later I landed in the Trade Fair department. I am responsible for co-ordinating trade fairs and shop displays. Additionally, I’m responsible for sending samples to all markets. My job requires flexibility as I travel a lot to prepare for fairs in other countries. I enjoy travelling for my work. I’ve seen places which I otherwise wouldn’t have visited. In addition, the colleagues I work with in the Netherlands and the excellent collaboration with the local Marketing teams in the various countries make it pleasant to do my job.

Each presentation, fair, or shop is unique and therefore requires flexibility from our team. My contribution to our new show room in Belgium is a good example of my job to deliver a wide representation of all the Dorel Juvenile brands.

I am committed to learning more in my area of expertise in organising and preparing fairs and taking on larger projects. I definitely want to grow further and with the internal support I receive I am confident I will succeed. Dorel Juvenile gives me the freedom and flexibility to develop personally. Enjoying your work is the most important thing. Otherwise, it’s better to look for another job.

Favourite dish: I travel to Italy a lot and love to eat the pasta vongole.
