Your missionDorel Juvenile Group is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our rapidly growing accounting and finance team located in Columbus, Indiana. The Staff Accountant will collaborate internally with the existing financial reporting and cost accounting teams to gain an understanding of new and ongoing business functions and projects in order to support three entities within Dorel’s Juvenile division. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this position requires strong communication skills, technical aptitude and curiosity, and a good understanding of financial reporting requirements.
Key responsibilities• Review, reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts • Research and correct account discrepancies • Prepare and adjust journal entries • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accruals • Follow Dorel’s established accounting processes • For small subsidiary, the Staff Accountant will record revenue, cost of goods sold and inventory on a monthly basis • Record and reconcile costs of new product development and patents
Your profile• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance • 2+ years’ experience in accounting or related field • Proficient in Excel and Word • Ability to read and understand technical forms and financial reports • Strong written and oral communication skills • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships
