Your mission

Dorel Juvenile is looking for a Product Integrity Engineer to join the team at our Design and Development Center in Foxboro, MA. In this role, you will be the expert in the company’s product development process and the “go-to” person who understands product safety standards and internal quality requirements and how to apply them to design and testing.


Key responsibilities

Evaluate new product development concepts and engineering designs to insure inclusion of US, Canadian, and/or Global regulatory requirements and company product safety policies. Develop and approve Quality Requirements and other documentation such as Product Evaluation Requests and Design Validation Plan & Report for all products. Assist in the development of test methods, focusing on verification of Regulatory as well as Reliability and Consumer expectations. Responsible to be an advocate for the consumer and anticipate consumer needs. Participate in QFD, design reviews, DFMEAs, Hazard Analysis, and product improvement brainstorming meetings. Coordinate and conduct tests on new product sample submissions and provide feedback on results to product development and Dorel China. Collect and analyze data to identify trends, process capability, distribution and confidence intervals for product reliability and manufacturing processes. Manage and execute six sigma projects using DMAIC process to improve product quality and reliability. Communicate with Dorel China and 3rd party suppliers to insure quality requirements are received and understood, test protocols are understood, sampling needs are met, control plans are created and quality systems are in place to insure product quality, both during new product qualifications and on an ongoing basis. Train test technicians in new product test protocol requirements. Review consumer / retailer feedback through online star ratings and RGD data to early warning product issues and work with product team to brainstorm and implement product improvements. Provide technical support to Consumer Relations and Sales. Some domestic and international travel may be required.


Your profile

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field, preferably engineering. ASQ certified Quality Engineer preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred. 5+ years’ experience in the quality field in the consumer products industry, preferably with experience in a juvenile products company. Knowledge of related ASTM standards desirable. Experience with plastic molding, metal fabrication, fabric manufacturing and related assembly / test methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in building in customer satisfaction in NPD. Experience working with International business units with manufacturing located primarily in Asia. Fluent with Microsoft Office.
