Dorel Juvenile Supports United Way’s Day of Service
On September 9th, a group of employees from Dorel Juvenile’s Columbus office participated in the 2016 Day of Service in memorial to those who provided their services during and after the attacks on September 11. This national day of service is sponsored locally by The United Way of Bartholomew County.
Employees volunteered their time to complete residential clean-up projects in Hope and the East Columbus area. One of the most rewarding projects was to participate in building a climbing wall at Columbus Youth Camp. The wall was made with natural materials and will be enjoyed by hundreds of kids visiting Youth Camp for summer camps, field trips and family outings.
There were over a thousand volunteers from local organizations that worked on 82 projects throughout Bartholomew County. These volunteers served at 22 not-for-profits and 60 residential areas. They painted, landscaped, completed general handyman projects and so much more. Dorel Juvenile is proud to have participated in Day of Service once again and to have had the opportunity to focus some of this community effort on a population that is of particular importance to us - the kids!
